Oakland, CA (September 20, 2020) – An accident in the Oakland area on Thursday left one person seriously injured. At approximately 7:45 a.m., on September 17, officers with the Oakland Police Department responded to the site of a vehicle collision on Hegenberger Road.
Reports show that a 35-year-old man was traveling on Hegenberger Road in a 2007 GMC Xfinity van when his vehicle collided with a City of Oakland flatbed truck on the southbound lanes.
The man became trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. The driver was critically injured and rushed to an area hospital for treatment. The driver in the flatbed was injured.
At this time, the police in Oakland are investigating the cause of the crash.
