Oakland, CA – Christopher Jones Killed in Motorcycle Crash on CA-24

Oakland, CA (July 31, 2020) – The motorcyclist who lost his life in a collision on Wednesday evening in Oakland has been identified by police. Just after 11:15 p.m., on July 29, the California Highway Patrol responded to the site of a motor vehicle accident on California State Highway 24.

Reports provided by CHP show that 51-year-old Christopher Jones was riding a Yamaha motorcycle east on the California State Highway when his vehicle collided with a Honda Accord just west of Highway 13, near the Caldecott Tunnel. Jones was ejected from his motorcycle and landed on the roadway. Jones incurred fatal injuries in the accident and was immediately pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
