Cupertino, CA – Driver Killed in Car Accident on CA-85
Cupertino, CA (September 19, 2020) – An accident reported in the Sunnyvale area claimed one woman’s life. At approximately 8:50 a.m., on September 16, the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on California State Highway 85.
Reports provided by authorities show that a woman was driving on the ramp from the northbound side of California State Highway 85 to enter onto Interstate 280 when her 2003 Lexus collided with a 2015 Lexus.
The impact of the crash sent both vehicles into a guardrail.
The driver of the 2003 Lexus, who was identified as a 45-year-old female, was fatally injured in the accident. The victim was declared deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, a 37-year-old male, was treated for minor injuries.
At this time, the cause of the crash is under investigation.
